The Van Buren County 4-H Iowa, Cantril Dayz and Cantril Grass Roots is sorry to announce that the Kentucky headhunters and Georgia thunderbolts concert is CANCELED for this Friday night. Good news is, they will be performing SUNDAY, AUGUST 28th at the Van Buren County, Iowa Fairgrounds. Tickets will be good for that night. Refund info will be posted in the near future for people wanting a refund on the Van Buren County Fair Facebook page. Due to the cancellation of Kentucky Headhunters due to health issues, the Van Buren County Fairboard is having The Last Minute Dash Dirt Drag Race!

The Dover Historical Society will hold their July meeting at 1:30p.m. at the museum in New London.  Guests are welcome. DOVER SUNDAY will be celebrated at the museum Sunday July 24th featuring over 20 wedding dresses from 1906 through the 1980’s. There is no admission and the program begins at 1:30.  The museum is open Saturdays and Sundays, 1-4 p.m.

Music on Main is free and open to the entire community and hosted by Main Street Mount Pleasant. There will be live music by the band The Boys, Food will be available from the Henry County Pork Producers, and the Henry County Cattlemen. Bring your whole family and enjoy the games, pedal tractor pull, and check out the new and vintage tractors. This year we are adding a bags tournament.

Join artiste Cody Flietner, as he leads his 3rd painting lesson accompanied by wine & other beverages! Addington Place of Mount Pleasant will provide the glasses, canvases, and paintbrushes as Cody guides you through the afternoon at their Senior Sip and Paint from 3-4:15 on July 27th.
