Tri-T is holding a garage sale from 8 am to noon at 1523, 235th Street west of Mount Pleasant.

Chapter EV of P.E.O. will be selling mums in the Elliott Chapel Parking Lot in New London from 8 am to 3 pm or until all are sold.  Proceeds will go toward P.E.O. projects which help women achieve their educational goals.

Mt. Pleasant Historic Preservation Commission will continue their garage sale this week and next from 9am to 1pm  500 W. Monroe. There will not be a salvage sale at the church, but they will have some salvage items at the garage sale.

The Mount Pleasant City compost site is open for the season Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm and Wednesdays from 1 to 6 pm.  The site is located southwest of Saunders Park at the intersection of Yocum Lane and Hoaglin Drive.

The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market is open from 8:30 to 11 am in the Orschelan parking lot on North Grand Avenue. This is a temporary location change due to Old Threshers.

Salem Old Settlers continues today.  A pancake breakfast will be served by the Salem Fire Department at the Community Center from 6 to 9 am.  The kids fun run starts at 7:30 am with the adult fun run/walk starting at 8 am.  The parade beings at 10:30.  There are events throughout the day, including a carnival.  The pedal pull begins at 1 with the fire department water fights beginning immediately after.  The chicken barbecue dinner begins at 5.  Jive Radio performs from 6 to 9.

It’s day two of the Mediapolis Town and Country Days.  The Lions Club Pancake Breakfast runs from 6:30 to 9.  The parade is at 10.  There are activities throughout the day.  Davdis Casas Magic Show is at 7.

New London VFW hosts a dinner tonight from 5 to 7:30 pm.  A ham steak dinner is $10 and ribeye steak is $18.  Dinner includes a baked potato, salad and a roll.  For carryouts, call 319-367-5009.
