Bike Van Buren’s 40th Anniversary is this weekend! This is a casual, family-oriented bicycle ride through Van Buren County, Iowa. The routes wind through Van Buren’s historic Villages. Total weekend mileage is roughly 80-150 miles in two days. Although the majority of the route is on sparsely traveled paved county roads, some sections include travel on state highways. Walk-up registrations are welcome. Registration and Check-in are located at Keosauqua City Park, 600 Van Buren Street, Keosauqua, IA 52565. Registration and Check-in Hours: Sunday, August 16th between 7:30 am-8:00 am

The Dover Museum in New London will feature nearly 40 works of art during the month of August every Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at the museum at 213 West Main Street in New London. Admission is free. The donated and loaned pieces were created by more than 12 artists with connections to the New London area. The art exhibit may also be viewed during Dover Day on Saturday, August 22, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Dover Museum is featuring The “Wish” Book, History of the Mail Order Catalog at 1:30pm! Glenda Campbell will present the how mail order catalogs affected American life.

The 73rd annual West Point Sweet Corn Festival wraps up today with free sweet corn from 11am! The carnival will be in action from 11:30am – 5pm and free goat yoga from 1:30p-3:30p!  For a complete list of activities and times:  West Point Sweet Corn Festival
