Today is curbside recycling pickup day for residents in Mount Pleasant who live south of Washington Street. Residents are reminded to set their green recycling bins at the curb for collection. Accepted items include paper, cardboard, plastic containers, metal cans, and glass. A green recycling bin is required to participate in curbside pickup and can be purchased at City Hall.

The HCHC Gift Shop in Mount Pleasant will celebrate February First Thursday today, with a special one day sale. The shop, located at 407 S White Street, will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., offering 25 percent off one regular priced item. The event will also feature Shut Your Piehole Cheesecakes. ImpactLife will host a blood drive on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 12:00 to 3:30 p.m. at Innovairre in Mount Pleasant.
