Mt. Pleasant High School will celebrate graduating seniors with a Baccalaureate and Senior Awards at the high school.  The event begins at 6:30pm.

Arbor Court, 701 E. Mapleleaf Drive in Mt. Pleasant continues to celebrate Nursing Home Week!  Residents will share Coffee & donuts with Linda Hunsaker & designing flower pots is on the agenda!

• Friday, 5/15/26: Cookout for residents and employees with music and winners of the poetry contest will be announced.

Birkwood Village of Fort Madison has some fun for National Skilled Nursing Care Week today hosting the “Birkwood Boogie” Musical entertainment with Dian at 2:30 with burgers and fries for lunch! Join KILJ tomorrow at 2 pm as they head to Birkwood Village of Fort Madison.

• Thursday, 5/14 – 80s Glow: Big hair and bright lights, hot dogs and root beer floats for lunch and afternoon sno-cones, the day also includes skee-ball and jump rope contest
• Friday, 5/15 – Life is a Circus theme – corn dogs, funnel cakes and more

DMC Regional Waste offers both a main drop-off site and mobile recycling options on Wednesdays. Residents can recycle items, including rechargeable batteries, at multiple locations. The main drop-off site at 1000 West Washington Street in Mount Pleasant is open from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Mobile recycling will also be available in New London at the Town Square from 8:15 to 11:30 AM, and in Danville at City Hall from 1:30 to 3:00 PM. For more information, visit dmcwaste.org.

The STEM program at Harlan Elementary School in Mt. Pleasant is providing students with the opportunity for hands-on learning during the final week of school and are looking for donations!  Cardboard tubes, tissue boxes, plastic containers, ice cream buckets, pipe cleaners, straws, and crafting supplies are needed!  Donations can be dropped off at Harlan (1001 N. Main Street) before May 18^th.
