The Mount Pleasant City compost site is open for the season Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm and Wednesdays from 1 to 6 pm.  The site is located southwest of Saunders Park at the intersection of Yocum Lane and Hoaglin Drive.

United States Senator Chuck Grassley will hold a town hall meeting in Ft. Madison at the City Offices in the Council Chambers from 8 am to 9 am.

The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market is open from 4 to 6 pm in the Orschelen parking lot on North Grand Avenue.

The Stockport, Iowa United Methodist  church will host a taco dinner from 5 pm to 7pm at the American Legion building. This is a change in location due to repairs in the church kitchen. Serving home made soft shell  tacos,dessert,and beverage for a Free will offering. Dine in or carry out. Proceeds go to church repairs.

There is a New London School district community meeting  at 6 pm in the cafeteria.  Information and details about the school district’s “Build Our Future Today!” plans will be presented ahead of the upcoming September 14 vote.
