Firefighters responded to a field fire just outside Crawfordsville Thursday afternoon after a caller reported flames in a cornfield behind a residence.
The Crawfordsville and Ainsworth Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene shortly after 12:30 p.m. The Olds Fire Department was also initially alerted but later disregarded once the situation was under control.
Thanks to the quick response of local crews, the fire was successfully extinguished before it could spread further. No injuries or property damage were reported.
The cause of the fire has not been publicly identified.
