Below is a message from the Mount Pleasant 4th of July committee regarding the festivities planned for the fourth:
“We know everyone is starting to wonder about tomorrow’s weather impacting our event. The forecasts differ by the hour, so we will be waiting until the morning to make a decision regarding the activities from 5-8pm, and then perhaps a separate decision on the firework show depending on if it’s cleared up.
If we cancel everything tomorrow, the fireworks show will be moved to Friday evening, with no activities prior.
We know how unpredictable Iowa weather can be, and since all of our activities are partially or fully outdoors, we will make the best decision we can to ensure the safety of our guests, vendors, and equipment. Thank you for your patience!”
