Girls’ Basketball: Notre Dame, W-MU All Roll

No. 7 (1A) Notre Dame 56, Cardinal 24 

Notre Dame raced to a 23-5 lead after one quarter as the seventh-ranked Nikes rolled to a 56-24.

Megan Harrell, a Quincy University recruit, led all scorers with 15 points while Reagan Engberg added 13.

The Nikes are now 12-0 and 8-0 in conference play and are the clear frontrunners for the conference title

Cardinal is now 3-10.

Winfield-Mount Union 50, Pekin 30 

Winfield-Mount Union saw three reach double figures as the Lady Wolves improved to 13-2 with a 50-30 triumph over Pekin.

Jobey Malone led Winfield with 14 points while Bradie Buffington chipped in with 13.

Kerrigan Pope led Pekin with 11.

Winfield-Mount Union will get Highland on Friday night, while Pekin hosts No. 11 Mediapolis.

The Lady Wolves are now 13-2.

Holy Trinity 58, WACO 31 

Mary Kent Bendlage had 18 points as Holy Trinity bounced back from a Monday night loss to Mount Pleasant with a 58-31 “w” over WACO.

Teagan Snaadt had 13 for Holy Trinity as well, while Natalie Randolph chipped in with 10.

Emma Wagler had 10 to lead WACO.

Holy Trinity is now 8-5.

WACO fell to 6-7.
