Miller-Meeks Announces Start of Service Academy Application Process

Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-02) announces the opening of the application period for individuals seeking a Congressional nomination to a United States service academy.

“Serving our country in the United States Army was one of the most rewarding times of my life,” said Miller-Meeks. “Attending one of our service academies provides not only a free and excellent education and a commission into our military, but the opportunity to serve our great country. I would encourage anyone interested in attending a service academy to apply for a nomination and contact my office with any questions.”

Anyone seeking to attend the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, or the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy must receive a nomination from an authorized source, which includes their Member of Congress. Applicants must also apply directly to each service academy they are interested in attending and to meet all criteria and deadlines.

Instructions for opening a nomination file, or more information, can be found on the Representative’s website, at https://millermeeks.house.gov/services/military-academy-nominations. The deadline to complete an application file is October 20th, 2021.
