KILJ — A Mount Pleasant man has been sentenced to federal prison. 21-year-old Jacob Hugo Alanis received a 132-month sentence for Receiving and Distributing Child Pornography.
After that, Alanis will serve 5 years of supervised release. He will also have to pay $6000 in restitution and $100 to the Crime Victims Fund.
According to court documents: in October 2019, the Mount Pleasant Police received a cyber tip from Dropbox alleging child pornography at an email address.
A search warrant was executed at a residence associated with said email address. Alanis admitted that the email address belonged to him and admitted to downloading, watching and trading child pornography.
