The National Honor Society chapter at the Mount Pleasant High School is making a sweet impact in the community.
The group recently donated $500 to All God’s Creatures Animal Shelter following a successful bake sale at the high school. Each year, the students select a local charity to receive a portion of the proceeds, and this year they chose to support animals in need.
The shelter thanked the students for their generosity, saying the donation will help provide food, medical care, and shelter for animals waiting to find their forever homes.
The bake sale not only satisfied sweet tooths around Mount Pleasant, but also showed how local students are stepping up to make a difference in the lives of others — including four-legged friends.
