New London residents may return to normal water use after the city resolved an issue involving one of its well pumps.
The city lifted its water conservation request at approximately 10:45 Sunday morning. The request had been issued at noon Friday after an electrical failure affected a well pump.
Residents were asked to limit water use and avoid nonessential activities while crews worked to install a replacement pump.
The pump issue came just days after New London was hit hard by severe storms that caused widespread damage, downed trees and power lines, power outages and localized flooding.
The city thanked residents for their patience and cooperation while the well pump was repaired.
