Fairfield Woman Claims Big Prize In ‘$100,000 Mega Crossword’ Game

CLIVE, Iowa — A Jefferson County woman said she and her husband are planning a vacation after she won a $10,000 lottery prize.

As her big win began to sink in, she called her husband, Rod, with the news.

“I got his voicemail so I had to sit and wait,” she said. “But then later, he calls: ‘You won me $10,000?’I said, ‘No, I won me $10,000!’”

Luke claimed her prize on Monday at the lottery’s Cedar Rapids regional office.
