Just before 7:00 pm on July 11^th, deputies responded to 400 High Street, Middletown, in reference to a burglary that had occurred. Video and evidence was provided by the victim, indicating a subject had come to their property and entered their residence without permission. Deputies developed a suspect for the crime, but the suspect was unknown to the victim.

At 2:00 pm on July 16^th, deputies located the suspect and interviewed him in reference to the incident that had occurred five days prior. As a result, Francisco Perez, age 50, of Mount Pleasant, was placed under arrest and charged with Burglary 3^rd degree (D Felony), Theft 5^th degree (simple misdemeanor), and Trespass (simple misdemeanor).  Perez was then transported to the Des Moines County Correctional Center.
