Panther Marching Band Season Marches Along After Two Competitions on Saturday

The Mt. Pleasant Panther Marching Band fought through the heat wave on Saturday as they battled bravely in Cedar Rapids. With temperatures reaching the 90s, students were told to march in their band t-shirts for concern that the heat might overwhelm.

The highschoolers traveled to the Bands Across the Prairie event where they placed fourth out of nine bands in Class 3A in the morning. Taking a quick trip across town, they took on six other schools in 3A at the Kingston Stadium at the 5 Seasons Marching Invitational. They finished 3rd.

Once again, the color guard was recognized by judges as the best in their class at both competitions. They were awarded the caption of Best Color Guard and has been honored with that at all three of their events this season.

The Mt. Pleasant High school marching band will travel to Kahoka, Missouri, for the 32nd Annual Clark County Parade of Champions on October 7th.
