KILJ — Gabe Hemsworth went 20:08.15 to pace the Winfield-Mount Union boys’ cross country team to a second place finish at the Hillcrest Academy Invite last night.
Hemsworth’s time was good for fourth individually. Kohlby Newsom finished fifth for the Wolves, while Jacobs Hanes and Lane Scorpil went 12th and 13th respectively.
Cedar Rapids Jefferson won the invite.
WACO finished third, they were led by Wyatt Dennis who ended sixth overall with a time of 20:37.87.
On the girls’ side, neither WACO nor Winfield had enough runners to qualify for team scores.
WACO was led by McKenzy Vradenburg, while Winfield-Mount Union was paced by Maggie Hutton.
