Prep Softball: Winfield-Mount Union Stays Hot, Mount Pleasant Loses

Winfield-Mount Union 13, New London 0

Winfield-Mount Union scored in every inning, rolling past Henry County rival New London yesterday, 13-0.

Jobey Malone had three hits, including a two-RBI double to break the game open in the 6th inning.

Madie Anderson drove in two runs, while Carlee Sloan also had a three hit night, scoring three runs atop Walt Jackson’s lineup.

The Lady Wolves have outscored their opponents 23-0 since the 7-6 heartbreaker to No. 2 (2A) Louisa-Muscatine on Monday.

Anderson struck out 13 over six innings allowing just one hit.

Winfield-Mount Union improved to 11-3.

New London fell to 4-15.

Wilton 14, Mount Pleasant 0 

Wilton 12, Mount Pleasant 0 

Mount Pleasant was no-hit in game one and beaten soundly in game two, as the Panthers were swept by No. 1 (2A) Wilton last night.

In game one Bethany Drury was the losing pitcher, while Ella McNamee took the loss in the nightcap.

In game two, Jersey Beachy and Drury each had base hits.

Mount Pleasant dipped to 1-19.

Danville 8, Lone Tree 7 

Ava Smith had four hits in four trips while scoring two runs as Danville earned an 8-7 win over Lone Tree last night.

Carle Beckman and Graci Walker each had two hits, while Morgan Waste scored two runs.

Haiden Molter earned the win allowing four earned runs over 6.2 innings, striking out five.

Smith came in to close the door for the final out and earned the save.

Danville improved to 4-7.

Lone Tree fell to 7-11.
