Southeast Iowa’s county fair queens are trading their local fairgrounds for the bright lights of the Iowa State Fair this week!
Among those representing the region are Lee County Fair Queen Allison Gruntmeier and Henry County Fair Queen Zenlynn Lee.
From August 11 through the 14th, the queens will meet representatives from counties across Iowa, participate in interviews and workshops, volunteer and rehearse for their appearances on the State Fair stage. Along the way, they will make new friends and enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The county queens will introduce themselves on the Knapp Stage beginning at 4 p.m. Friday, August 14.
Then comes the big moment: the 2026 Iowa State Fair Queen coronation at 7 p.m. Saturday, August 15, on the Bill Riley Stage.
KILJ wishes Zenlynn, Allison and all of Southeast Iowa’s fair queens the best of luck as they proudly represent their counties at the Iowa State Fair!
