High School Basketball

The Mt. Pleasant girls basketball team will be on the road to take on Fort Madison tonight, December 2nd, at 7:30 pm. KILJ will be on the call with pregame at 7:15.

The Mt. Pleasant boys basketball team will face off against Fort Madison tonight at 7:30 pm as they look for their first win in the home opener.

The Winfield-Mt. Union girls and boys basketball teams will be at home tonight against Pekin with the girls game starting at 6 pm and the boys game following.

The Holy Trinity Catholic girls and boys basketball teams next game will be a home contest against West Burlington tonight.

New London will host Central Lee tonight with the girls games starting at 6 pm and the boys going at 7:30 pm.

The WACO girls basketball team will be back in action tonight at 6 pm against Wapello as they are now 1-1 on the season. The boys basketball team will face off against Wapello at the conclusion of the girls game.

The Danville girls and boys basketball teams will travel to face off against Mediapolis tonight with the girls starting at 6 pm.

High School Wrestling

The Mt. Pleasant girls and boys wrestling teams will be competing at the Willard Howell Wrestling Tournament tomorrow, December 3rd.

WACO girls wrestling team will travel to BGM to compete tonight.

.Elementary Basketball Tournament

The Mount Pleasant Christmas Holidays 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament for 3rd – 8th grade boys and girls will be held on Dec 17th, 2022. For more registration details contact Coach Ronnie Ashton at 319-931-2896.

Iowa Wesleyan Athletics

The women’s basketball team will be in action tomorrow at 1 pm for the first game of a double header against College of the Ozarks as they are looking for their 8th victory this season. KILJ will be on the call with pregame at 12:45 pm.

The men’s basketball team is now 10-1 on the season riding a 9-game win streak and they will play tomorrow against College of the Ozarks following the conclusion of the women’s game. Coach Ashton knows that this game will test his team.

The women’s wrestling team will be back in action December 7th for a top ten matchup as they will host the #3 Grand View University Vikings. The men’s wrestling team’s next match will be tomorrow at the Buena Vista Open starting at 9 am.

The NAIA released their list of scholar-athletes and the Tigers had athletes selected from mens and womens soccer and volleyball. These athletes achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average, must be on the eligibility certificate for the sport, and attend one full year at their institution. Women’s soccer had seven athletes recognized in Ayana Lewis, Jacqueline Campos, Ingryd Lima, Baylee Alvarado, Ana Medina-Suazo, Laura Rincon, and Ashley York. Men’s soccer also had seven athletes honored in Alejandro Diaz, Alvaro Morera, Derrick Atuahene, Efrain Alvarado, Fabian Zamora, Logan White, and Luis Larrinaga. Lastly, the volleyball team had six athletes honored in Camryn Heyes, Emily Gehring, Kyra Linkin, Leamaris Fuentes, Leaneris Fuentes, and Michenna Davis.

Iowa Wesleyan released the schedule for both the men and women’s Indoor Track and Field season. The first meet will be tomorrow in Davenport at the Frigid Bee Invite. Bri Hunter returns for her senior season as she won the NSAA Indoor Championship in women’s shot put and went on to compete at Nationals where she ranked 6th in the Nation at the end of the regular season. The Tigers have seven meets before the Conference Championship on February 19th.
