High School Football

#10 WACO hosted Baxter last night and after the Bolts struck quick with an 11-yard touchdown pass from Perrin Sulzle to Treyton Travis to open the game, the Warriors appeared to be in trouble. Reece Oswald calmed the concerns after rushing for a 47-yard touchdown to open the scoring for the Warriors.

Hunter Hughes would capture his first of two interceptions of the night on the next drive, which led to a fourth and goal three-yard touchdown run for Oswald. The Bolts would score a touchdown in the second quarter, but their offense never seemed to click as the game went on. WACO would continue to score as the Warriors scored a touchdown on every drive except for one and converted all four of their fourth down attempts.

Louden Huisenga totaled 174 yards and scored a rushing touchdown, a receiving touchdown, and a 52-yard kick return touchdown to open up the second half. Oswald finished with three touchdowns as Head Coach Chad Edeker talked about the adjustment his offense took to get Oswald more involved. Clayton Miller also finished with three total touchdowns. Coach Edeker talked about how this win will help his team’s confidence.
