Prep Football: Season Wraps Up at UNI Dome:

The 2021 Iowa High School Football season has concluded after three more state champions were crowned yesterday at the UNI Dome.

Here’s the full scoreboard from the final day of football for this year:

Class 2A
#3 Southeast Valley 30, #5 West Lyon 13

Class 3A
#1 Harlan Community 42, #3 Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley 28

Class 5A
#2 Southeast Polk 24, #3 Ankeny 7

The Class 5A title game was a rematch of last year’s, where Ankeny got the better of Southeast Polk.

College Basketball: Wesleyan’s Strong Second Half Leads to Victory:

Iowa Wesleyan outscored Waldorf 40-32 in the second half as they earned an 82-75 win over Waldorf last night in the first matchup of the Cobblestone Inn & Suites Classic.

Down one at half, Wesleyan freshman Francis Okwuosah went off for 30 points and 13 boards in the win.

Marvin Bateman had 13 points and four boards off the bench, while former Fort Madison prep standout Kaleb Cresswell had nine points and eight assists.

The win improved Alex Huisman’s bunch to 3-5.

The Tigers will take on Valley City State University today in Forest City, Iowa.

Tip is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

College Wrestling: Iowa Dominates No. 21 Princeton:

The top-ranked University of Iowa wrestling team extended its dual winning streak to 19 with a 32-12 win over No. 21 Princeton on Friday night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

The Hawkeyes opened the 2021-22 season winning seven-of-10 bouts and scored bonus points in six of those seven wins, including each of the first four matches.

No. 1 Iowa returns to action Nov. 27 at 2 p.m. (CT) hosting Oregon State at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
