State Track Results: Day 2

Des Moines — Day Two of the Iowa High School State Track and Field Championships will begin today.

Here’s a running schedule of events for the morning session:

9:00 a.m. — Girls’ Shot: Jadan Brumbaugh (Mount Pleasant)

  • Made finals with a best toss of 44 feet, 8 3/4 inches. One more throw left. 

9:00 a.m. — Boys’ High Jump: Tyler Stoltz (Van Buren County)

  • Tyler Stoltz bows out at 6-1, clears 5-11 on his second attempt. Finishes 14th.

9:45 a.m. — Boys’ 110m Hurdle Prelims: Lane Davis (Van Buren County)

  • Davis finishes 23rd with a time of 16.83. 

9:45 a.m. — Boys’ 110m Hurdle Prelims: Bryce Wilson (Mount Pleasant)

  • Bryce Wilson qualifies with the third fastest time in prelims, running 15.20. Western Dubuque’s Logan Brosius was the top qualifier at 15.15.

10:05 a.m. — Girls’ 100m Hurdle Prelims: Kenna Lamm, Karsyn Lamm (Mount Pleasant)

  • Karysn Lamm runs the 7th fastest time in prelims, qualifying for finals with a run of 16.17 seconds. Her sister Kenna runs 16.81, that places her 16th. 

10:25 a.m. — Boys’ 4×200 Relay Finals: Cole Lipper, Kadin Salek, Andrew McPherson, Anthony Isley (Mediapolis)

  • This quartet earns a medal with a strong finish. That group runs 1:31.52 for fourth place. 

11:35 a.m. — Boys’ Shot: Cooper Pullis (Mount Pleasant)

  • Pullis earns a medal for the Panthers — the third of their throwing group — with a toss of 52 feet, 9 3/4 inches. He finished 5th overall. 

11:45 a.m. — Girls’ Long Jump: Karsyn Lamm (Mount Pleasant)

  • Lamm finishes 16th overall with a best jump on the day of 16 feet even. 

12:15 p.m. — Boys Distance Medley Finals: Chase Williamson, Will Davidson, Reean Seberg, Isaiah Albright (Mount Pleasant)

  • Mount Pleasant finishes 20th overall. They run 3:46.13. 

12:45 p.m. — Girls’ 4×100 Relay Prelims: Bailey Jalas, Karsyn Lamm, Josie Gilmore, Kenna Lamm (Mount Pleasant)

  • Mount Pleasant DQ’d. 

1:05 p.m. — Boys’ 4×100 Relay Prelims: Kadin Salek, Josh Darbyshire, Andrew McPherson, Anthony Isley (Mediapolis)

  • Mediapolis runs 44.31 to qualify for tomorrow’s finals. They ran the 8th fastest time in the 2A field. 

2:10 p.m. — Boys’ 4×400 Relay Prelims: Kadin Salek, Levi Arnold, Andrew McPherson and Anthony Isley (Mediapolis)

  • Mediapolis goes 3:28.62 to qualify for the finals with the third fastest times in prelims. Ahead of them were Underwood and Treynor. 

Class 1A:

3:35 p.m. — Girls’ Discus: Drew Fox (Danville)

  • Drew Fox sitting at 17th with a toss of 101-11. She did not make finals. 

3:35 p.m. — Girls’ Distance Medley Finals: Jacey Moore, Christella Boyer, Cassidy Yaley, Addison Parrott (Danville)

  • Danville DMR goes 4:21.10 for a 7th place finishing earning a medal. Parrott with a great 800m anchor. 

3:45 p.m. — Boys’ High Jump: Kade Benjamin (New London), Braden Spain (WACO)

  • Kade Benjamin out at 6-3, clearing 6-1. He should finish 8th on number of misses tiebreaker. Braden Spain hit the opening height of 5-7 before bowing out at 5-9. He finishes 23rd. 

4:15 p.m. — Boys’ 110m Hurdle Prelims: Dane Sweezer (Winfield-Mount Union), Simeon Reichenbach (WACO)

  • Sweezer goes 16.681 for 22nd, Reichenbach finishes 19th running 16.48. 

4:35 p.m. — Girls’ 100m Hurdle Prelims: Allison Dowd (Danville)

  • Dowd finishes 21st overall with a time of 17.66 seconds.

4:55 p.m. — Boys’ 4×200 Relay Finals: Danville (1:34.85)

  • Ayden Doyle, Cadence Williams, Gabriel Gourley, Mason Chipman go 1:34.23 for 18th overall. 

5:35 p.m. — Girls’ 4×200 Relay Finals: Jacey Moore, Jaeda Molle, Kenna Furnald, Christella Boyer (Danville)

  • Danville’s bunch finishes 20th overall running 1:53.51. 

5:55 p.m. — Boys’ 400m Hurdle Finals: Dane Sweezer (Winfield-Mount Union)

  • Dane Sweezer runs 1:01.12 which places him 22nd overall. 

6:15 p.m. — Boys’ Discus: Carter Allen (New London)

  • Allen, a fourth place finisher yesterday in the shot put, throws 160-06 for second place in the 1A discus. The Drake Relays qualifier earns a medal in both of his events. 

6:45 p.m. — Boys’ Distance Medley Finals: Boden Pickle, Josh Catala, Seth Bailey and Rylan Martin (New London)

  • That quartet runs 3:45.25 for 13th place.

8:35 p.m. — Boys’ 4×400 Relay Prelims: Mason Chipman, Gabriel Gourley, Oliver Sowell, Ty Carr

  • This group crushes prelims, they run 3:28.11 for first place in prelims, they’ll have the top time heading into tomorrow night’s finals.
