The 2024 High School Girls’ Soccer Championships Results

Des Moines, IA- The 2024 girls’ soccer state championships concluded over the weekend and Saturday entertained the crowd with upsets galore.

Class 1A

The Class 1A championship saw Isabelle Nelson tally a goal and an assist for #4 Nevada as the Cubs blanked #3 Denver 2-0. Avery Anderson scored the first goal of the game in the 12th minute.

Class 2A

It’s not often that the defending champion is considered the underdog, but #3 Dallas Center-Grimes had that distinction against #1 North Polk. After Abby Bell scored for the Comets first in the 14th minute, North Polk seemed poised to be the new champion.

Nevertheless, the Mustangs kept finding the net in the second half as Landry Glasgow scored two goals in the 6-1 win. Kylie Knief scored twice, as Ella Forsyth and Kenna Knief each netted a goal.

Class 3A

The biggest surprise of the tournament had #7 Bettendorf compete against #5 Valley for the Class 3A championship and after a half the game was tied at 1. Carson Bohanek put the Bulldogs on her back and scored two goal of her three goals in the second half to give Bettendorf the 3-1 win.

Payton Markham assisted on all three goals for Bettendorf and Ella Anliker had the lone goal for Valley.
