Thursday Morning Burglary Bandit Put Behind Bars

Around 6:00am on Thursday, October 19th, concerned residents of Mt. Pleasant began calling the Police Department reporting that cars and property were being broken into.

It was soon discovered that firearms were taken from unlocked vehicles, along with a numerous variety of items. As a result of the investigation, along with help from outstanding citizens, a search warrant was executed at 211 E Monroe St apt 101 in Mt. Pleasant.

A 22-year-old male, Daigen Ross of Mt. Pleasant, and a 17-year-old female were taken into custody. Two firearms were located, both of which were confirmed stolen. Other items matching the stolen property were located.

Daigen Ross was charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree with a firearm, Burglary in the 2nd Degree, and three counts of Burglary in the 3rd Degree. He was subsequently transported to the Henry County Jail.

The juvenile female was released to a family member and was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Equipment, Interference with official acts, and Criminal Mischief.

More charges are expected following this case. The Mt. Pleasant Police Department encourages people to lock their vehicles, especially if they have firearms in them.
