Van Buren County Hospital is warning patients about fraudulent emails designed to look like legitimate MyChart messages.
The emails use the MyChart name and logo and may advertise a supposed 2026 senior health package, Medicare Advantage wellness benefit or free health kit. Recipients may be directed to click a link and confirm an address or provide additional information.
Epic, the company that operates MyChart, has confirmed the emails are part of a broader phishing campaign. They are not legitimate communications from Epic or Van Buren County Hospital.
Anyone receiving one of the messages should not click its links or buttons, reply to it or provide personal, medical, financial or insurance information. Recipients should report the email as phishing or junk and then delete it.
