WACO’s Coble Named to IGHSAU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

WACO High School is proud to announce that sophomore Grace Coble has been selected to the Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.  This 14-member committee is made up of female student-athletes representing various sized schools across Iowa. Grace was one of 8 girls selected from ninety-three applicants this year.

The committee meets regarding issues related to girls’ high school athletic activities in Iowa. Committee members act as a voice for Iowa’s female student-athletes and as a sounding board for the IGHSAU’s Representative Council and Board of Directors.

Committee members also assist in the promotion of the educational values of interscholastic athletics. The committee discusses and provides feedback for issues dealing with sportsmanship, safety, student leadership and participation. Committee members also serve as student ambassadors at various state tournaments throughout the year.

Grace participates in Volleyball, Basketball, Track, Dance Team, Choir, and Orchestra.   She also has been selected by her teachers to be in the WACO chapter of National Honor Society and was voted into class officer and student council positions by her peers.   Grace is the daughter of Jay and Carrie Coble.
