Mount Pleasant — Iowa Wesleyan junior Bri Hunter has been named the North Star Athletic Association Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, the league has announced.
Hunter tossed the NAIA qualifying standard mark of 13.63 meters (44 feet, 8.75 inches) to earn a runner-up honor in the shot-put event for Iowa Wesleyan at the Bumble Rumble meet, hosted by St. Ambrose.
She is currently tied for fourth best shot-put throw in the NAIA.
Hunter set a new school record in the shot-put, breaking the previous record by over one foot.
