Des Moines, IA- Championship Saturday has officially wrapped up the 2026 Iowa High School State Track and Field Championships and there were plenty of athletes that brought their brooms to sweep their events, including one going a perfect four for four in gold medals. Overall, southeast Iowa tallied 19 state championships over the three-day event. Here’s the full results from Saturday’s events.
In the girls’ Class 1A sprint medley relay, Van Buren County’s Ali Pedretti, Emma Coffin, Aida Troutman, and Ava Loeffler took 21st place with a time of 1 minute and 55 seconds. Danville’s crew of Macie Wagner, Violette Sowell, Delaney Newberry, and Alaina Gourley grabbed 10th place with a time of 1 minute and 53 seconds.
Moving up to Class 3A for the girls’ division, Washington’s group of Emma Lins, Jaslyn Villa, Brynnlee Flynn, and Lauren Drahota finished in 21st place with a time of 1 minute and 53 seconds.
For the second time this year, Mt. Pleasant’s quartet of Kynlee White, Delaney Anderson, Alex Scott, and Avery Fedler reset the school record with a time of 1 minute and 47.29 seconds, which was the 3rd fastest of the event, earning the Panthers six points.
On the boys’ side of the sprint medley relay, Pekin’s team of Aliyas Brock, Riley Smith, Alijah Brock, and Nolan Glick finished as the Class 1A champions, touting a time of 1 minute and 33 seconds, which was a season best mark.
Brock Spears, Kyler Crow, Henry Luttenegger, and Will Luttenegger of Mediapolis snatched 12th place with a time of 1 minute and 35 seconds for the boys’ Class 2A sprint medley relay.
Keokuk’s group of Kurt Joy, Jadyn Burton, Jackson Bair, and Ryan Bair sprinted to a 3rd place time of 1 minute and 31 seconds in the boys’ Class 3A sprint medley relay, giving the Chiefs six points.
The girls’ Class 1A 800-meter run was full of Southeast Iowa Super Conference talent, and they did not disappoint. Danville’s Alaina Gourley claimed 23rd place with a time of 2 minutes and 29 seconds, while WACO’s Carlee Lunsford turned in a personal best time of 2 minutes and 19 seconds.
Ultimately, Chloe Glosser of Pekin paced her way to a silver medal with a time of 2 minutes and 15 seconds. Glosser has earned 18 points individually to go along with her teammate Anna Hadley’s 18 points.
West Burlington/Notre Dame had a pair running in the girls’ Class 2A 800-meter run and Kaitlyn Kipp finished in 23rd place, while Hannah Ritter took 19th place. Finishing outside of the top 10 at 11th was Mediapolis’ Avery Dietz with a time of 2 minutes and 20 seconds.
Washington’s Iris Dahl turned in a personal best time of 2 minutes and 18 seconds for the girls’ Class 3A 800-meter run for 14th place.
However, the story of the race was Mt. Pleasant’s Fedler, as one of only two freshmen in the race, finished just one-hundred-of-a-second behind Mt. Vernon’s Evelyn Moeller for the silver medal time of 2 minutes and 11.47 seconds. The runner-up finish gave Fedler eight points and a total of 18 points so far through the meet.
All of the boys’ Class 1A 800-meter runners finished in the top 10 and two even secured points. Noah Horn of Danville grabbed the 10th place spot with a time of 1 minute and 59 seconds.
WACO’s Jude Dykstra claimed a personal best time of 1 minute and 55 seconds for 4th place and five points towards his team total.
Lincoln Bainbridge has done it again for Van Buren County. The senior handled business and has now gone 3 for 3 in his events for state championships after posting a time of 1 minute and 53 seconds. The Warrior still had one more event to go before the end of the meet.
In the boys’ Class 3A division, Fort Madison’s Nolan Guzman took 14th place with a time of 1 minute and 57 seconds, which was a personal best.
Featuring two of the best hurdlers in Class 2A, the Columbus boys’ team of Tyson Kaalberg, Alexander Rees, Tyson Corneille, and Lamar Ceant managed a 5th place time of 59.68 seconds, bringing four points to their team total. It was also a season best time.
In the girls’ Class 1A 100-meter dash, Hillcrest Academy’s Rya Scott roared to a 6th place finish, posting a time of 12.66 seconds and adding three points to their team total.
It has been a return to form for Burlington’s Mylee Stiefel as she sprinted to the silver medal in her return to the Blue Oval with a time of 12.01 seconds. Washington’s Jaedyn Moore finished in 6th place with a time of 12.26 seconds. The Grayhound earned eight points, while the Demon got three points.
It won’t be a queen sweep for New London’s London Franklin, but he will be happy with a runner-up finish and another eight points for the Tigers after clocking a time of 11.03 seconds in the boys’ Class 1A 100-meter dash.
West Burlington/Notre Dame’s Landry Haberichter will be trading in the bronze for gold this year after cruising to the boys’ Class 2A state championship time of 10.72 seconds.
Without the competition from one another both southeast Iowa runners are enjoying the success, as Keokuk’s Ryan Bair also captured a state championship for the boys’ Class 3A division with a time of 10.48 seconds.
The pair entered as the best in the boys’ Class 2A 110-meter hurdles, and they proved it in the finals. Columbus’ Lamar Ceant and Alexander Rees finished right next to each other on the podium with Ceant taking his first state championship with a time of 14.19 seconds and Rees grabbing the silver with a time of 14.36 seconds, accruing 18 points for the Wildcats with just one event.
Burlington’s Mylee Stiefel added a bronze medal to her collection after finishing with a time of 24.92 seconds in the girls’ Class 3A 200-meter dash. The Grayhound earned six points in the event and 14 points overall.
In the boys’ Class 2A division, Ceant of Columbus claimed 8th place with a time of 22.7 seconds, while Haberichter of West Burlington/Notre Dame ran a personal best time of 22.01 seconds for 4th place and five points.
Keokuk’s Ryan Bair made it sweep in the boys’ Class 3A short dash events after winning the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.45 seconds. Bair earned 20 points within a two-hour span.
It took a state meet record time to defeat Pekin’s Chloe Glosser in the girls’ Class 1A 1500-meter run, as the Panther’s time of 4 minutes and 31 seconds was good enough for 2nd place and eight points.
Bryn Wright of Mediapolis grabbed 15th place in the girls’ Class 2A division with a time of 5 minutes and 3 seconds.
In the girls’ Class 3A 1500-meter run, Washington’s pair of Iris Dahl and Emma Horak took 19th and 21st place, respectively. In a battle of the Averys, Fort Madison’s Rump beat Mt. Pleasant’s Fedler by less than a second for 6th place with a time of 4 minutes and 42 seconds. The Bloodhound earned three points, while Fedler’s 7th place time garnered two points.
In the boys’ Class 1A 1600-meter run, Pekin’s Cole Millikin finished in 21st place. WACO’s Garret Landau turned in a time of 4 minutes and 41 seconds for 19th place. Lastly, New London’s Riley Raines missed out on scoring with a 9th place time of 4 minutes and 33 seconds.
Mediapolis’ Simon Wendel proved his endurance after adding a bronze medal from the boys’ Class 2A 1600-meter run with a time of 4 minutes and 20 seconds to his silver medal performance in the 3200-meter run. It also gave the Bulldogs another six points.
In the boys’ Class 3A division, Silas Hulett of Mt. Pleasant grabbed 21st place with a time of 4 minutes and 32 seconds, while Washington’s Andrew Rees claimed 11th place with a personal best time of 4 minutes and 24 seconds.
The girls’ Class 1A 4×100 meter relay featured two members from the Southeast Iowa Super Conference with Highland snatching 6th place with a time of 50.4 seconds with the team of Hailey Brun, Kamryn Fink, Kinzie Ruess, and Alexa Hahn.
Moreover, grabbing the gold medal and 10 points was Hillcrest Academy’s group of Karina Bourha, Adia Scott, Niva Helmuth, and Rya Scott with a mark of 49.24 seconds.
In Mt. Pleasant’s final event of the day, the girls’ team of White, Scott, Taylor Williamson, and Anderson notched a 4th place time in the girls’ Class 3A division with a time of 48.72 seconds for five team points.
In the boys’ Class 1A 4×100 meter relay, Pekin’s group of both Brocks, Smith, and Glick finished in 7th place with a time of 44.16 seconds.
In their best run of the season, the New London squad of Westerbeck, Strawhacker, Porter, and Franklin made it back-to-back years of hoisting the state championship in the 4×100 meter relay, this time with a mark of 42.73 seconds. Franklin finished with a gold medal in three of his four events and a silver medal or better in all four.
In the boys’ Class 2A division, Columbus generated five points with a 4th place time of 43.2 seconds ran by Corneille, Rees, Garcia, and Ceant.
In the final event of the season, Danville’s quartet of Newberry, Bauer, Wagner, and Gourley ripped off a 5th place time of 4 minutes and 5 seconds in the girls’ Class 1A 4×400 meter relay, which was a season best time.
In one last show of pure dominance, the Van Buren County boys’ team collected the state championship in the Class 1A 4×400 meter relay, as the team of Simmons, Troxel, Duncan, and Bainbridge clocked a time of 3 minutes and 22.5 seconds, which was a season best time. Bainbridge went a perfect four for four on gold medals.
Pekin’s team of Smith, Brock, Lane Fariss, and Glick was not too far behind with a time of 3 minutes and 22.77 seconds for the silver medal.
Lastly, the team of Nathan Schmidgall, Will and Henry Luttenegger, and Kyler Crow of Mediapolis grabbed 4th place in the boys’ Class 2A 4×400 meter relay with a time of 3 minutes and 22 seconds, as the season best time added five points to the team’s total.
