Henry County Supervisors to Consider Support for Bridge Grant Agreement at Special Meeting

The Henry County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday, July 14, beginning at 8:15 a.m. at Emergency Management on West Washington Street in Mount Pleasant.

Following the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call, supervisors are expected to approve the consent agenda, which includes the July 9 meeting minutes and financial claims for payment.

Under new business, County Engineer Jake Hotchkiss will present Resolution 23-2026-20, a 28E Cooperative Agreement for a County Highway Bridge Program federal grant project involving Bridge Number 13. The bridge is located on 140th Street, west of Franklin Avenue, or County Road W-55, in Henry County.

The special meeting was called because of scheduling and time constraints for the Board of Supervisors, along with the application deadline for the grant. The resolution is expected to receive approval.

As always, the meeting will include an opportunity for public comments before adjournment. Residents wishing to address the board on items not listed on the agenda are asked to state their name and address for the record and limit their remarks to three minutes.
