A Fairfield man has been arrested following an investigation into a burglary reported earlier this month.
Fairfield Police responded shortly before 10:30 a.m. August 6 to a business in the 600 block of West Stone Avenue. Investigators determined someone had unlawfully entered the building during the previous night and removed numerous items. Several of the stolen items were later recovered near the property.
After collecting evidence, reviewing surveillance footage and conducting interviews, police identified Gregory Scott Robinson, 47, of Fairfield, as the alleged suspect. An arrest warrant was issued, and officers had been attempting to locate him.
Robinson was found and arrested shortly before 8 p.m. Monday, August 25. He is charged with third-degree burglary, a Class D felony.
Robinson was taken to the Jefferson County Jail, where he is being held on bond pending an initial court appearance.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
