A faulty electrical outlet has been identified as the cause of a Wednesday afternoon house fire in Burlington.
Firefighters were called to a residence on Greenwood Drive shortly before 5 p.m. Crews arrived within four minutes and found smoke coming from the structure.
Firefighters located the flames in the attic and extinguished the fire before it could spread further.
The home was occupied when the fire began, but everyone escaped safely. No injuries were reported.
The amount of property damage remains under assessment. The property is insured.
