College Softball: Wesleyan “Splits” Doubleheader

Eureka (Ill.) — The Iowa Wesleyan softball team “split” their doubleheader with Eureka on Saturday, but will need to travel back to the Land of Lincoln to finish off game two after rain ended proceedings.

In game one, the Tigers were beaten 8-6.

Morgan Christner was the losing pitcher for the Tigers, allowing eight hits and eight earned runs, while striking out five.

Wesleyan was led offensively by Alex Eyman who went 3-for-3 with two home runs and five runs batted in.

Former Danville prep Ashley Pfadenhauer also added a round-tripper for the Tigers.

In game two, the Tigers jumped out a 7-0 lead after two innings on the back of another Pfadenhauer home run, she tallied five runs batted in the abbreviated game two.

It is unclear when they will make the rest of that contest up.

The Tigers will host a home doubleheader on Friday, when they welcome in Greenville University.

First pitch is set for 12:00 p.m.
