Boys’ Track: Panthers Finish Second at Washington

Washington — The Mount Pleasant Panther boys’ track team finished second at yesterday’s Demon Relays at Washington High School.

Sophomore hurdler Bryce Wilson improved on his time once again, running 15.90 seconds for first place — one of three events won by a Panther on Thursday.

Fellow hurdler Will Davidson captured gold in the 400 hurdles, finishing with a time of 59.59. Senior Cooper Pullis was up to his usual tricks in the shot put, hurling a toss of 48 feet 6 inches.

The Panther shuttle hurdle, distance medley and 4×400 teams all finished in second to help guide the Panthers to their team runner up position.

Iowa City Liberty captured the team gold with 147 points.

Mount Pleasant finished second with 133, with WACO placing ninth.

The Panther boys’ will be off until next Thursday before hosting their home invite at Mapleleaf Athletic Complex.

Other boys’ track from the area:

  • New London finished in third at the Falcon Relays in West Burlington last night. Carter Allen finished first in the shot put with an impressive toss of 48 feet, 7 inches. Josh Catala won the 200m dash (23.38) while Seth Bailey and Alexander Julian finished behind Ty Carr in the 1,600m run.
