Girls’ Track: Mount Pleasant Second at Demon Relays

Washington — Mount Pleasant’s throwing tandem of Grace Kelley and Jadan Brumbaugh provided the fireworks as the Panther girls’ track team finished as runners-up at yesterday’s Demon Relays.

Kelley won the discus with a toss of 117 feet, 11 inches while Brumbaugh won the shot put with a throw of 41 feet, 6 1/2 inches.

Mount Pleasant’s shuttle hurdle relay team of Allie Westercamp, Kenna Lamm, Karsyn Lamm and Jenna Gilbert finished first — combining for a time of 1:11.51.

The Lamm’s, Josie Gilmore and Bailey Jalas combined for another relay win — this time the 4×100 — blazing a time of 52.23 seconds.

Karsyn Lamm finished a runner-up in the 100m hurdles, while Abby Blint placed third in the 1,500m and 3,000m runs.

Iowa City Liberty won going away, scoring 160 points.

The runner up Panthers scored 118 points.

WACO was 12th.

Other girls’ track:

  • Danville finished second, New London fifth at the Falcon Relays in West Burlington last night. Addison Parrott lead the Danville girls’ with a first place finish in the 1,500m run, cruising to a :33 second win running 5:13.35. Ivana Lajznerova placed third for New London in the 3,000m run. West Burlington/Notre Dame won their home invite with 211 points.
