College Softball: Wesleyan Splits with Culver-Stockton

Mount Pleasant — Iowa Wesleyan split with upstart Culver-Stockton yesterday, falling in game 13-0 while coming back for a 3-2 win in game two.

In game one, Culver-Stockton used a seven-run third inning to blow the game wide open.

The Wildcats tacked on two runs in the 4th and 5th to earn the run rule win.

Kara Krieger had two hits despite the loss.

Jordan Morthland was the losing pitcher, tossing 2.1 innings allowing six hits and seven runs all earned.

In game two, former Danville prep Haiden Molter threw a complete game, allowing just two runs for the nail-biting 3-2 win.

Molter allowed just eight hits and struck out one.

She also got it done at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs batted in.

Ariana Wolfard had the other RBI.

Karoline Stratton and Kylie Topliff each had two hits.

The split moved the Tigers to 6-25.

The team will be back in action today when they take on Viterbo University.
