Girls’ Basketball: No. 7 Notre Dame Rolls Past New London, Other Prep Finals

No. 7 Notre Dame 78, New London 45

Notre Dame vaulted out to a 40-11 lead after one quarter and put it in cruise control the rest of the way for a 78-45 win over New London last night.

Quincy University recruit Megan Harrell had 18 points to lead Notre Dame while Gabby Deery chipped in with 12.

New London came back to outscore Notre Dame 24-20 in the second half behind 19 points from Emma Nye.

Natalie Burden added nine.

New London is 0-13.

Notre Dame stayed unblemished at 9-0.

Winfield-Mount Union 60, Columbus 31 

Bradie Buffington led a quartet of Lady Wolves in double figures with 17 points as Winfield-Mount Union got by Columbus 60-31 last night.

Jobey Malone, Keely Malone and Keetyn Townsley all joined Buffington in double digits.

Lily Coil paced the Wildcats with 14.

The Lady Wolves stayed hot, they’re now 10-2.

Columbus slumped to 2-9.

Central Lee 43, WACO 34 

Alivia Myhre scorched WACO for 18 points as Central Lee continued playing strong basketball with a 43-34 win over the Warriors last night.

Ellah Kissell was the high-point player for WACO with 12 while Grace Coble chipped in with nine.

Central Lee is now 6-3 — they’ll get a tilt with Cardinal Friday night.

WACO will host Notre Dame.

The Warriors are 5-5.
