Girls’ Soccer: Mount Pleasant Hooks Up with Burlington

Burlington — The Mount Pleasant girls’ soccer team will put their undefeated start to the season on the line tonight when they travel to Bracewell Stadium to link up with Burlington.

The Panthers, 6-0, have largely been untested outside of two one goal games this season.

Andrea Lopreato has been the conference’s best player this year, leading the team with 16 goals on 35 shots on goal.

Elly Manning has added nine goals and five assists.

Emmie Pieper leads the way as Mount Pleasant’s netminder with 34 saves.

Burlington, 6-3, had their three-match winning streak come to a close over the weekend with a 7-nil shutout loss to Quincy Notre Dame (Ill.).

Their top offensive threat is Kevynn Siefken, a freshman who has 12 goals.

The first meeting between the schools resulted in a 4-2 win for Mount Pleasant.

Tonight’s game will kick at 5:00 p.m at Bracewell Stadium.
