Girls’ Track: Brumbaugh Breaks School Record, Panthers Finish Second at Conference Meet

Keokuk — Mount Pleasant junior Jadan Brumbaugh threw 44 feet, 4 1/4 inches breaking Mary Wester’s school record as the Mount Pleasant girls’ track team finished second at yesterday’s conference track and field meet in Keokuk.

Brumbaugh, the Drake Relays champion, was nearly nine feet better than that of second place finisher Sydney McCarron of Keokuk.

Her teammates Grace Kelley and Kylee Coleman went back-to-back in the discuss with Kelley throwing 113 feet, 9 3/4 inches while Coleman hurled 103 feet, five inches.

Mount Pleasant was also victorious in two relays, the shuttle hurdle and 4×400.

Comprising the victorious shuttle hurdle team were Allie Westercamp, Jenna Gilmore, Josie Gilmore and Karysn Lamm. They ran 1:11.80.

The quartet on the 4×400 team who were crowned conference champions were Courtney Raub, Ralyn Seberg, Jeneva Dykstra and Kenna Lamm.

That group won by over five seconds with a time of 4:30.40.

Fairfield won the team race with 198 points, Mount Pleasant was second with 138.

Keokuk placed third with 72.5 points.
