Iowa Gasoline Average Climbs Above $4 Per Gallon

Iowa motorists are facing another sharp increase in gasoline prices.

AAA reported Wednesday that regular unleaded gasoline was averaging approximately $4.13 per gallon across Iowa. That is up about 34 cents from one week ago, when the statewide average was approximately $3.79.

The current average is also more than $1.20 higher than the approximately $2.89 Iowa drivers were paying at this time last year.

GasBuddy’s separate weekly survey found Iowa prices had increased more than 20 cents per gallon as of Monday. The national average has also climbed above $4 per gallon.

Prices can vary considerably by community and individual station. Motorists are encouraged to compare local prices before filling their tanks.
