Lane Scorpil to Wrestle at the NAIA National Championship Meet

Mt. Pleasant, IA- Lane Scorpil, the freshman from Columbus Junction, will be heading to the NAIA Men’s Wrestling National Championship meet after a 2nd place finish in the Heart of America Conference Championships.

In the 125-pound weight class, Scorpil would take down Riece Graham of Graceland University by fall to move into the quarterfinals. Scorpil would come away with another pin against Brayden Bradley of Missouri Valley College to challenge Colton King of Central Methodist University in the semifinals. In a thriller, Scorpil would walk away with the win in a 6-5 decision to battle in the championship match. However, Esco Walker of Grand View University would win by tech fall taking 1st place with Scorpil claiming 2nd place. That 2nd place finish meant Scorpil had qualified for the National Championship.

The NAIA Men’s Wrestling National Championship meet will start on March 3rd and finish up on March 4th in Wichita, Kansas.
