As summer rolls on, school districts across Iowa are preparing for another year of school. Education has changed greatly over the years, and so have distractions in the classroom. Nearly every highschooler has a smart phone now, and they can often show up during a lesson, drawing attention away from the teaching. Ken Crawford, WACO CSD superintendent, spoke with KILJ Radio to discuss a new cell phone policy that is being implemented in the district. According to a letter, phones are to be in a cell phone holder, locker, backpack, or in a pocket. Students are prohibited from using their phones or headphones in class.
