A new regional workforce partnership is expanding into Henry County with the creation of a new Workforce Specialist position aimed at strengthening local workforce development and supporting area employers.
The Mount Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance, Greater Burlington Partnership, and the Lee County Economic Development Group have announced the new position, which will focus on leading workforce initiatives in Henry County while building stronger collaboration across Southeast Iowa.
Leaders say the partnership is designed to address workforce challenges through shared resources, regional cooperation, and innovative talent development strategies. The goal is to help attract, develop, and retain workers while supporting employers and communities throughout the region.
The new Workforce Specialist will also help implement workforce development initiatives identified as priorities during the Mount Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance’s recent capital campaign.
Teli Van Rycke, Regional Director of Workforce Innovation at Greater Burlington Partnership says workforce challenges don’t stop at county lines, adding that regional collaboration allows organizations to share resources, exchange best practices, and create stronger workforce solutions for employers, educators, and job seekers across Southeast Iowa.
