Nancy Sue Eads, 71, of rural West Point, Iowa, passed away at 5:55 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2020, at Park Place Elder Living in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.
She was born on May 27, 1948, in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, the daughter of Tilford and Lela (Hammer) Overton. On May 14, 1977 she married James Raymond Eads in Donnellson, Iowa. He preceded her in death on February 19, 2014.
Survivors include her daughter: Katharine E. (Michael) Warehime of Frederick, Maryland; one son: James T. (Ashley) Eads of West Burlington, Iowa; two grandchildren: Bryce and Camden Warehime; two sisters: Rebecca (Wayne) Conlee of Fairfax, Iowa and Cynthia (Marty) Walker of Cabot, Arkansas; mother-in-law: Ellen Eads; two sisters-in-law: Nancy Tucker and Karen (Quin) Shannon and niece and nephews: Andrew Conlee, Eric Walker, Zachary Walker, MacKenzee Sardo and Nicholas Shannon.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Jim and her parents.
Nancy graduated from Central High School and attended the University of Northern Iowa. In November 1974, she received a life-saving kidney transplant from her sister, Becky. This was the 150th transplant procedure that had been performed at the University of Iowa Hospitals. For the rest of her life, she would be involved with the Kidney Foundation raising awareness of successful kidney transplants. She was a board member of Peoples Mutual Insurance and the Clay Grove Cemetery Association. She was a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Donnellson, where she worked as secretary for twenty-six years before her retirement in 2019. She enjoyed traveling, reading, crocheting and was very family oriented.
Her body has been entrusted to the crematory of Schmitz Funeral Home for cremation.
Friends may call after 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 25, 2022, at Schmitz Funeral Home in Donnellson, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Schmitz Funeral Home, Donnellson with Pastor Mike Bennett officiating. The family asks that those in attendance for the visitation and service wear a face cover.
Memorials have been established in her memory for the Clay Grove Cemetery Association or the Kidney Foundation of Iowa and can be mailed to the family at: Schmitz Funeral Home, P.O. Box 56, Donnellson, Iowa 52625.

Bernice L. Larsen, 95, of Minot, North Dakota and Mt. Pleasant passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the New London Specialty Care Center in New London.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the First Lutheran Church in Minot, North Dakota. Burial will follow in the Rosehill Memorial Park in Minot, North Dakota. Memorials may be directed to the First Lutheran Church in Minot, North Dakota. Sondra Ann Dick, 82, of Douds passed away at 2:45PM on Thursday March 17, 2022 at the Southeast Iowa Medical Center in West Burlington. Visitation with family present will be from 10 to 11AM Saturday March 26, 2022 at Christ United Methodist Church prior to the service. Funeral services will be on March 26, 2022 at Christ United Methodist Church in Douds with Pastor Phil Campbell and Tim Sprouse officiating. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds immediately following the service. Memorials to Zion Lutheran Cemetery may be left at the church or mailed to the family at P.O. Sondra was born April 5, 1939 in Van Buren County to Cyrus Hugh and Alta Geneva Cooper Greenfield. She grew up on the family farm near Douds with her five brothers and graduated from Douds High School in 1957 and loved to play basketball and went with her high school team to state. Sondra spent all her adult life in and around the Douds area. She married Keith E. Smith on February 8, 1958 at the Christ United Methodist Church. He died July 19, 2002. She then married James Dick on May 30, 2009 in the Zion Bible Church near Douds. Sondra was a stay-at-home mother during her children’s early years and when they were old enough, she decided to take a job at Barker’s Mercantile as a clerk and stayed there for many years. She then worked for a while at Fairfield Glove Factory and Barkers in Keosauqua until her retirement when Keith became ill and needed her help at home. Sondra loved to stay busy working outside and was an avid gardener. She was a loving caring and dedicated wife, mother, grand-mother and friend.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband James of Douds, a son Brian Smith (Beth) of Libertyville, a daughter, Joan Davis (Glen) of Peachtree City, GA, two brothers Dwain Greenfield (Lyn) of Douds and William Greenfield of Davenport, two step-children, Darla Melcher (Allen) of Libertyville and Doug Dick (Rachel) of Douds, six grand-children, Aaron Muntz of Unionville, MO, Keith Smith (Alicia) of Unionville, MO, Corie Smith of Libertyville, Miles Aldrich of Camdenton, MO, Mason Aldrich (Alexandra) of Jacksonville, FL and Parker Davis of Peachtree City, GA, three great-grandchildren, Reagan Smith, Tate Smith and Knight Aldrich, several step grand and great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents and first husband, Keith, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, James and Michael Greenfield and a sister in infancy, Cynthia Greenfield.

Brumbaugh’s winning toss of 44 feet, 10.75 inches was over 10 inches further than West Burlington-Notre Dame’s Elise Olesen.
Finishing second for Mount Pleasant was senior sprinter Kenna Lamm, earning runner-up honors in the 60m hurdles, running 10.08. Lamm was also sixth in the 200m dash, finishing in 27.76.
On the boys’ side of things, Avin Truong continued his great start to the season, earning a win in the long jump, with a leap of 6.37 meters.
Will Davidson finished second in the 60m hurdles, blazing to a time of 8.77.
Sophomore Nate Stroud was second in the high jump, clearing 5-10.
Central recruit Nathan McWilliams was 10th in the 800m run, he completed his two-lap race in 2:22.48.
The Danville boys’ also had a strong performance, earning wins from Ty Carr and AJ Bonnesen.
Carr won the 400m dahs, while Bonnesen claimed gold in the mile.
