Prep Football: Mount Pleasant Aiming for Win No. 1, Can WACO Stay Hot, Can Winfield Rebound

KILJ — Lots of questions will be answered tonight in Week Four of the Iowa High School Football season.

First, in our featured matchup, the Mount Pleasant football team is looking to snap a three-game losing skid to start their year as they travel to West Burlington Notre Dame for a date with the Falcons.

Sophomore running back Payton Hagans had his coming out party last week with a three-pack of touchdowns and will be counted on again against the Falcons, who are also 0-3.

However, West Burlington Notre Dame have a played a tough schedule losing to traditional powers Mid-Prairie and Mediapolis, while hanging tough with No. 8 (4A) Fort Madison.

Travain Donaldson is the Falcons bellcow, racking up 229 yards through three games.

Hayden Vandenburg is only completing 36% of his passes and has been picked twice.

This will only be the third meeting in the last six seasons between the two schools, with Mount Pleasant taking both.

Tonight’s game will kick at 7:00 p.m.

You can listen on FM 105.5 with the Panther Tailgate Show beginning at 6:30 p.m.
