KILJ — The softball circuit saw four area teams compete last night:
Central Lee 6, Mount Pleasant 0
Madison Helling allowed four runs on three hits, while walking three as the Mount Pleasant softball team fell to Central Lee 6-0 last night in a nonconference affair.
Emma Starr worked three innings out of the bullpen yielding just one earned run for the Panthers, who were blanked offensively for the second straight night.
Savana Walls had a double and walk, while Starr registered the only other base hit.
Megan Hopp was the winning pitcher for Central Lee, she struck out 14 over seven sterling innings.
The loss dropped Mount Pleasant to 0-2.
New London 12, Mediapolis 2
Ashlyn McSorely drove in five runs as New London rolled past Mediapolis 12-2 yesterday night.
Elly Manning was the winning hurler, throwing a complete-game two hitter, while striking out four.
Manning also provided two hits and drove in two runs.
New London, who is now 1-0, will take on Cardinal this evening in Eldon.
