Prep Baseball: Area Scoreboard (Wednesday)

KILJ — It was a quieter night of prep baseball in the region, but Mount Pleasant and New London were both in action.

Clear Creek-Amana 11, Mount Pleasant 0

Josh Loren struck out 12 hitters over five innings as Clear Creek-Amana sailed to an 11-0 win last night in a nonconference matchup in Tiffin.

The Clippers, a state qualifier from a year ago, used an eight-run 2nd inning to lift themselves to victory.

Jack Johnson was the losing pitcher for Mount Pleasant.

Colton Hudson had the Panthers’ lone hit, a third inning double.

Sam Young led the Clippers with three runs scored, two hits and a stolen base.

The Panthers will be off until next week when they’ll travel to Keokuk for a conference twinbill.

New London 15, Mediapolis 0 

New London received three hits from Tucker Gibbar and Camden Kasel as the Tigers rolled to a 15-0 Super Conference win over Mediapolis last night.

Kasel had four runs batted in, while Gibbar, Carter Allen and Brenden Richey each drove in two.

Josh Catala was the winning pitcher, working three innings without allowing a hit, striking out five

Gibbar threw one scoreless inning out of the bullpen, allowing one hit while walking two and striking out two.

New London will take on Cardinal tonight in Eldon.
