Women’s College Basketball: West Named New Assistant Coach

Mount Pleasant — Brittany West has been named the new assistant women’s basketball coach for Iowa Wesleyan, head coach Steve Williamson has announced.

West enjoyed a stellar year a fifth-year senior, where she averaged 17.8 points per game on 48% shooting from the three point line.

Hailing from Shakopee, Minnesota, West was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Continental Athletic Conference Tournament and was and the league’s Newcomer of the Year and was a First Team All-Conference selection.

In Wesleyan’s final game of the season West broke two school records, beating the record for points scored in a single game and three-pointers made in a single game.

The Wesleyan women finished this year with a 19-6 record and return several key pieces to next year’s group.
