New London will travel to West Burlington/Notre Dame tonight at 7 pm.
Washington will venture to Jesup for a tournament today.
Wapello will take on Highland tonight at 5 pm at home.
Holy Trinity Catholic will compete against Danville tomorrow at noon.
Mt. Pleasant will host Fort Madison for a doubleheader on Monday, June 15th, with game one at 5:30 pm. KILJ 105.5 FM, kilj.com, will be on the call with the pregame show at 5:15 pm.
High School Baseball

High School Postseason Soccer
The 2026 girls’ state tournament will play their semifinal matchups today but the championship matchups scheduled for tomorrow, June 13th, have been moved up due to the forecasted weather; consequently, Class 1A will play at 9 am, Class 2A will go at 11 am, and Class 3A will round out the day at 1 pm.
Mt. Pleasant Cross Country
Summer runs will be starting up again on Monday, June 15th, for the Mt. Pleasant Cross Country team. These runs are optional but a great way to run with others and get in shape for fall season. The runs are available to anyone entering 7th through 12th grades. Coaches may not be present at every run, as they are often led by upperclassmen.
On Mondays, the runs will take place at 6:30 am at the Old Threshers Museum Theatre. Wednesdays will be high school speed day at 7 am at Mapleleaf and Tuesdays and Thursdays will take place at Saunders Park by the swimming pool at 7 pm.
The runs will continue through the middle of August until the Mt. Pleasant Cross County camp. If you have any questions, you can contact Coach Lyle Murray at 319-850-0867.
Local Summer Athletic Camps
Mt. Pleasant girls’ basketball is offering up a camp for any girls’ basketball players entering 3rd through 12th grades from June 23rd through the 25th located at the Mt. Pleasant High School Gym. The camp will focus on the fundamentals and introduce team concepts employed by the high school’s system.

The Southeastern Blackhawks Youth MVP Baseball Camp has opened up for registration. The camp is open for youths ages 7 to 12, running June 15th through the 17th from 9 am to noon. The camp will take place at Wagner Athletic Complex on the West Burlington Campus and will cost $150 for the full three day camp. Southeastern Community College
The National Junior College Athletic Association released their All-Americans for the 2026 season and SCC’s Isaac Flamino earned a spot on the Honorable Mention list. The Blackhawk pitched a perfect 8-0 record in 12 appearances, notching 72 strikeouts and an ERA of 4.33, which all ranked top five in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.

The Burlington Bees will travel to play the Danville Dans tonight at 6:30 pm.
The Clinton LumberKings outdueled the Thrillville Thrillbillies last night, 15-7. Gavin Awbrey smacked a double for four RBIs in the winning effort. The LumberKings will look for the road sweep tonight at 7 pm.

1939 – The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum was dedicated in Cooperstown, New York.
1967 – The Senators beat Chicago, 6-5, in 22 innings. The game lasted six hours, 38 minutes and ended at 2:43 a.m. and caused the league to adopt a curfew stating that no inning may start after 1:00 a.m.
1997 – Interleague play began in baseball, ending a 126-year tradition of separating the major leagues until the World Series.
