Lincoln, IL — Iowa Wesleyan completed a weekend sweep over Lincoln Christian Saturday, defeating the Red Lions 25-4 and 6-0.
In game one, the Tigers put up seven runs in the 5th and 12 runs in the 6th break the game wide open.
Carlos Vicente, Brady Lukavsky and Phillip Guerrero each had three hits for Wesleyan.
Guerrero drove in five while Vicente plated four.
Five Tigers drove in two runs apiece.
Muscatine native Joe Morrison was the winning pitcher. The right-hander tossed five innings of one run ball, allowing six hits while striking out four.
In game two, a comedy of Red Lion errors helped propel Wesleyan to the sweep.
Lincoln Christian committed six errors helping stake the Tigers to a 5-0 lead after two innings.
Derek Marrufo had two hits, two runs scored with two RBI.
Carson Selk worked the game’s first three innings on the hill for Wesleyan, as he teamed up with four others for the tag-team shutout.
Stephen Larson tossed the game’s final inning, striking out two.
The sweep moved Wesleyan to 19-26 overall, Blake Beaber’s bunch has won seven straight games.
They’ll look to keep the good times rolling tomorrow when they travel to Fulton, Missouri to do battle with William Woods University.
